Koki Shimazu is an entrepreneur dedicated to driving innovation in global education. Born in 1989 in Yamanashi, Japan, Koki is currently based in Shanghai, where he continues to lead international educational initiatives. At the age of 17, he founded a network of English language schools and successfully exited the company at 24. During his undergraduate studies at Aoyama Gakuin University, Koki participated in the ELT teacher training program at Exeter College, University of Oxford. He holds the Cambridge CELTA qualification and earned a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the Institute of Education, University College London. In 2017, he was selected from over 1,395 applicants across 108 countries to receive the Pearson ELT Teacher Award, an accolade recognizing the most innovative educators in the field of English language teaching worldwide.
